The EVA One-Name Study

Researching the EVA Surname all around the world!

Four Generations Of EVA's

Here are 4 generations of EVA's - myself, my father Warren EVA, my grandfather Harry EVA and my great-grandfather Frederick EVA.

Welcome!

Welcome to the EVA One-Name Study genealogy pages.

My name is Tracy, and I was born with the unusual surname of EVA in Melbourne, Australia in 1963.

When I was 20 years old I became interested in my family tree, and have been a passionate genealogist ever since - over 40yrs now!

"My EVA's" came from Helston in Cornwall, England - my great-great-great-grandparents were Peter EVA and Elizabeth HAWKE, who married in Helston on the 19th July 1825. I am descended from their son Thomas EVA, who was born in 1838.

I am looking forward to corresponding with EVA's and their ancestors from around the world.

This website is free for anyone to search. If you are at all interested, please go ahead and search. Get in touch if you can help me add anything, or if you have any queries, or think I may be able to assist you.

Getting to know our ancestors gives us all a chance to define who we are, without them none of us would be here. Let's honour them and share their stories.

This webiste is supported by the Guild of One Name studies, whom I gratefully acknowledge, as they help these stories live on in perpetuity.

Feel free to come back often - I will be adding new information as it comes to hand.

At the bottom of this page is a summary of the most common surnames listed on the website. The bigger the font the more prominent the information available.

Thank you for your time looking at my site. Let's see if we can join family trees together, and discover more of our forebears stories and challenges.

Frederick EVA

My great-grandfather Frederick EVA, on the far left, was one of 4 men who found the Poseidon Gold Nugget in Tarnagulla, Victoria, Australia on 18th December 1906.

It was the largest nugget found last century in Australia (1901-2000), and weighed 967 ounces!
